I've bought a pair last season and it was love at first site ;) Few days ago ordered a new pair since Nexxo are too narrow for me.
I've noticed a few things, first of all the "Knuckle Box" is pretty much gone which is a deal breaker for me, futher more the middle strap is narrower and shoe tongue materials are reversed (mesh on sides, blue material in the middle / top).

New - left, Old - right (peeling toe rubber)

You can also check the new version of the shoe on
OutdoorGearLab , some pics are for the old model.

I'm gonna return this new "improved" Shaman and try to get the older model as it's way more comfotable and I don't mind toe rubber peeling that much.

My left shoe is the newer 2nd gen, while my right is the older version. I had to order a left shoe after it pitched of the cliff and sank to the bottom of Lake Superior. I can't tell much of a difference between the two. YMMV.

Yes I'll contact local stores first.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
