Hammering pitons with a Cassin X-Dream

All the pictures I see of the Cassin X-Dream don't really show much of a hammer anvil on the tool.

For a tool that is used in mixed climbing, it seems that the ability to hammer pins would be important.

How do you pound pins with an X-Dream?

You don't. Do climb many routes that you place pins on? I don't climb mixed alot but most of the pitons i come across are fixed.

I've placed a handful of pins on ice routes and I plan to buy a few pound ins for turf pro on Catskill top outs, but I think you probably need to carry a hammer if you plan to place pins.

The tools are lighter and more specialized these days, so the hammer on the rare occassion you need it seems like a reasonable trade off.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
