Hey all, two friends and myself are trying to find a great spot for the winter in the US for SPORT climbing. Dates between Jan 2 to 12th. We have been looking at some places in New Mexico, Mount Lemmon, Chattanooga, and Red Rocks. We can't figure out what the best bet would be. We climb about 5.11-5.13 and want stuff in this range. Please post if you have any ideas on crags or areas for us to look at. Thanks!!

Head on over to the MP pages for those locations and specific crags and you'll see a seasonal popularity chart. Good Winter areas will have a high line on the graph for those months.

You can also sort by rating and style (trad/sport/boulder/ice) in the search area on the main page.

Thanks Tim. Didn't know I could sort by rating/ style. There are a lot of options and we are unfamiliar with them so we are just trying to get some ideas besides what the popularity chart says. I figured that chart would be biased based on when most people climb which may not be in january.

Also does anyone know if Mount Lemmon's higher elevation climbs, like office politics, are too cold in january?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
