What are 1' slings actually used for....?
|
I get 2', 3', 4' and 8' slings, but 1'? Who uses 1' slings? I am not talking about dogbones with sewn ends, I am talking open 1' slings. Does anyone actually use these things? |
|
Girth hitch slings for a slight extension to have a foot sling connected to my hand ascender for jumaring. That's what I use one for. Top rope anchors, again, slight extension for equalizing. |

Big dead elephant keeping my keys
Best use I've found. Really though, I have a few that I use for connecting close pieces in some situations, but I use them for things other than climbing too. |
|
I use one to rack my draws from home to crag just because I haven't found a better use for it. |

I bought a few before I knew what the fuck i was doing and i used them for racking my quickdraws until recently when i started climbing trad. |

Double it up for a quick draw, 6 or 12 inch what do you need ? |

You could use them to basket hitch wires when the biner clip would otherwise fall directly on an edge (preventing crossloading biners). |
|
I used them plus tape as project draws and another to girth hitch the handle of my drill. |
|
I have a couple that I bought before I knew they were almost useless. I use them, now, for organizing gear: all my draws clip to one; all my other stuff (slings, lockers, spare spring gates, etc) clip to another. |

headband man! gotta keep that fabio-esque hippy hair out of your eyes somehow. |
