Camping suggestions

I am heading down to either Zion or the Moab area tomorrow. Any suggestions on areas to camp for free. BLM areas?? Regarding Moab, we would like to be closer to town versus further (IC, Fischer towers, etc)

North of Arches, Willow Springs Road there are a lot of dispersed campsites. 14 miles to downtown.

For the Zion area try Ponderosa Grove CG. It is on BLM land, north of Kanab, UT. $5/night; toilets; no water. It is on Hancock Rd. off of Rt. 89 between Zion and Kanab.
