Anyone want to go solo the second flatiron by full moonlight right now?

Mountain lions are mythical creatures. You'll make it out undigested. Be brave! |
You're MUCH more likely to me meet your fate at the hands of gravity than the maw of a mountain lion. Tonight is an eclipse! Go! |
So did you go? How was it? I'd totally do it, but I didn't see the post. |

Ah that Third ascent sounds fun. |
Awesome @Kevin - Glad you got out! |

Fall, 1968. Jim Erickson and I decide to climb the Third by moonlight. Went to The Sink to have a few beers while we waited for the moon. Met 4 babes who had just driven to Boulder from Kansas, had never seen a mountain. Talked them into climbing the Third with us that night. Definitely a memorable event. |
Did you convince them to solo it or did you swami belt and rope them all up? |
That's a great story Ed... Thanks for sharing! |

Mounain lions are scary beasts!!! Stay protected out there y'all. Double up on whatever you got. |

I would have loved to have done this. Are you planning another? |
@Eliot Yeah I'd like to do it again some time. I don't know if there'll be another good night this year because it's going to start getting colder. Have to wait and see. |

Windless nights even in the 40's are fine. We do it at sunrise in the winter and that's at 32deg on some days. Take gloves until you hit the base & put a warmer in your pockets or chalk-bag. |
We climbed up the Second one fall waiting for the Harvest moon to rise. Having grown up on the eastern seashore the harvest moon when it rises out of the Atlantic ocean is HUGE, a wonder to see. |
