Hey all! Anyone up for climbing at Ceuse? I'll be in the area from Aug 31 through September 9, and I'd love to climb at Ceuse (or, really, any of the amazing looking places in the general southern-France area like the Verdon Gorge, etc.) I'm planning on flying into Lyon and renting a car, so I'll have some flexibility, and I'll have a sport rack and rope.
Anyway, I would look forward to sharing a rope and meeting some new people. Feel free to let me know if you're interested. Best wishes! (Also, if it helps, my abilities are perhaps mid-range: I am fairly comfortable on anything up through 5.11 (6b+ to 7a) and can generally on-sight 5.12a (7a+), but with some real effort. After that, I'll probably need to do some hang-dogging and routes will likely take me multiple attempts; 5.12d (7c) is reasonably the top end of my limit right now). It's all fun.
Cheers! Hope to see you out there.

Hi,
I'm stuck in Germany right now waiting to go back to the states. All of my stuff is in US w/ the exception of harness and shoes. Sounds like you have the rest. Before I head back to US, I am going to take some time off and drive down to South France and pay homage to Ceuse area if nothing else just to see it and have a look. I'd love to climb. It's been a year since I last got out but I keep myself in good shape. I'm really just looking to get back on the rock. September in South France would be perfect. I'm not quite the climber you are right now. At my grade, I am most interested in Orpierre which is a little farther southwest and lower elevation. Might be nice, it's been a chilly European summer. Are your dates more flexible? I'm likely not going to be able to leave here until 8 Sept which makes up miss each other. But I have from then until 23 Sept with absolutely nothing planned (this is circumstantial time off). If you can procrastinate a bit, it would be great to split costs on stuff.
Hey Tommy, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I couldn't extend my trip, but really appreciated your message. I also had a great time at Ceuse and hope you found your way there. Once there, it was fairly easy to meet up with other climbers. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Anyway, best wishes and happy climbing.
