Im looking to order some new boots. I have about 600- 800$ to spend. Im going to be doing climbs like mt.rainier and mt.hood.

In the future I want to climb mt.denali so I want to buy gear with that in mind so that I don't have to buy a 80--$ pair of boots cause my 500$ pair is to cold.

So looking at boots. Scarpa Phantom 6000 Boot looks to be what I want. But if I get a boot for denali, is that to much boot for mt.rainier?

whats your advice?

Boots for Denali will be overkill for Rainier and Hood.

Scarpa Phantom 6000 is likely the most comfortable of the warm double boots. With an overboot, you could wear it on Denali.

It is a bit heavier and bulkier than an insulated single boot, which is what most folks use for Rainier/Hood, but if you don't mind the extra weight/bulk, it will be ok.

What climbing boots do you already own (if any?)

if you want a denali boot that you can climb rainier and hood in, get the Sportiva Baruntse, Spantik, or scarpa equivalent.

You can definitely use those boots to climb rainier and hood. will you have warm feet...absolutely. If you're doing the standard routes where you will be descending the same way you went up, you can hike up to Muir or Shurman with lighter boots and then use your doubles on summit day.

if you buy a light boot for volcanos you will end up buying another for denali and therefor spending more money.
