Getting from airport to Indian Creek?

I'm seeking advice for getting from Canyonlands Field airport to the Creek. (FYI I'm leaving hitchhiking for a worst-case scenario only).

I'm arriving on a Saturday, late morning. My friends/partners will be climbing already, and although I know they are kind enough to cut their day short to pick me up, I would love to spare them the inconvenience.

There's got to be people out there who have successfully navigated the vehicle-less climbing trip from this airport, so I'm all ears.

Or, if I can get myself down to Moab proper, perhaps a local who's already making the drive in for the day/weekend would like to share gas or get some beer out of the deal? October 25...

Thanks for reading!

it's sorta hitchhiking i guess, but you'd be totally fine taking a cab from the airport to gearheads and then hang out near the water. within hours, some climber will probably be driving to the creek and will give you a ride. if you rather just spend the money, there's also a long-distance taxi that serves the moab area and could take you from the airport to the creek, but it'll be pricey. moabtaxicab.com

I'll be driving past the airport to Indian creek around 7pm or 8pm and could pick you up if you're still there. Pm me your phone number

In these situations, I usually try to hire the A-Team, but if I can't find them, then yeah, hitchhike I guess.

The nice thing is that a lot of folks from Monticello go to Moab to shop, work, whatever. So the hwy 191 traffic from. Moab south to Monticello isn't going to be all that sparse. I'm sure that if you went to a feed shop or something. You could probably get a lift from a rancher heading south. Then you can get dropped off at the turnoff to IC and hitch another ride with the innumerable climbers heading that way. Just make sure that you're rope or other climbing gear showing on the outside of your pack and you'll get somebody to pull over for you
