Hi,

My Partner and I will be in Crete on October 20th and are looking for information and or people to climb with. We were already in Europe and saw Crete photos from that Rock and Ice and decided to go. We really have no other beta than that article and would love some help on where to stay (hostel or camping) for climbing and what climbing we should do (we only have sport gear).

Any information or help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Tyler

This is the best info I could find.
We are in Plakias now. Didn't bring an international license to rent a car to get to other areas and this is a short walk to the crag.
climbincrete.com/en/index.php find.
hope this helps. I could only find the old guide book from 2006 and I didn't think it was worth buying.
I'll climb when the rain stops. just got here today.
safe travels

Yeah that website is pretty good for route information. Where are you staying and how much is it? How long do you think you'll be there?

Have fun climbing

Hello,
We are staying at Anemoni Studios, found it on booking.com for $50 USD a night. It is very clean. I thought it was a brand new place because it is so nice, but the guest book in the entry has notes from 1996. We looked into the studios that were written about in the rock and ice mag, but they didn't have rooms available for the days we are here. We leave the 3rd to Athens and back to Colorado on the 5th. We climbed here today and it was a decent wall. Probably climb it out in two days unless you project 8a's, I don't so we will have climbed everything up to 7a+ by the time we leave. Still looking into transport to Agiofarago. This is a small town with lots of restaurants, but not much else going on. The beach is pretty sweet. There is a dive center too, but not diving this trip.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers
CP
