When I decided to move to Laramie and go to school and UWYO, I was consoled by the opening of the climbing gym during the Fall 2014 semester. I figured that by the time the wind and the snow came I would have a place to climb indoors. Apparently the opening date has been pushed back to Spring 2015. Does anyone know if there are any other options for rock climbing indoors in Laramie? Thanks.
I'm also a student in laramie. Several people have home woody's and crack "machines", so just be as outgoing as possible and you can probably get the ok to use their home set ups. Other than that, half acre currently has a single campus board upstairs on their walking track... go buildering on the classroom building, I do =]
also, it is possible to climb outside during each month, but the selection is way limited. Sometimes a group of buddys will occaisonly make the drive to foco to boulder at inner strength or miramont. PM me and i'll give you some info!
Bundle up and hit the schoolyard for some good circuits on sandstone boulders, few good problems V0-8 in the area. Veda also has a few good boulders, some of which are overhanging and ideal if one is trying to climb in the snow.
Lander's a three hour drive north and climbable all year; between that and the nearer boulder, you'll make it through the winter. Or at least, that's how I did it Look me up if you ever need a partner in Lander ;)
