I'm gonna be in the valley from this Sunday (28th) to October 5th. Down for anything up to 5.10 (lead or 5.11 follow) and C2+. I've done several walls this year and am super stoked to do more or long routes...

I have all gear except portaledge.
thanks.

I too will be there in October from the 5th to the 26th looking for partners to get on El Cap for some longer aid routes, or anything really.

I am looking to do either the East Buttress of the Middle Cathedral, or Serenity Crack/Sons of Yesterday around October 2. Anyone interested? Open to other comparable suggestions.

Looking to climb in and around Yosemite, and was hoping to line up partners. Will be around the Valley/Tuolumne from 10/8-10/19. Mostly looking to do trad multipitch, possibly sport. I'll have topos, rope, SUV, and standard Yosemite rack.

Comfortable leading trad in the mid-upper 10s, happy to partner up for easier or harder grades.

Should be in the Valley by friday, anyone up for some easy-moderate multi pitch this weekend? I'm thinking 5.6-5.9 Its my first time out there I'd like to get a feel for the grades.

Anyone want to climb in the Meadows tomorrow or Saturday? Great weather! 65 degrees and hardly any climbers. Looking to get on anything up to 5.9, .10 if you want to lead it.

i'll be there from monday 6 till end of the month.
We are a team of 4 but when i get there the other 3 are expected to be on the Nose.
staying in camp 4 with this small tent: img.pecheur.com/tente-dome-…

i'm always happy to discuss beta with anyone around, in english, french or italian.
(Of course i'm much more knowledgeable about euro destinations than about yosemite valley! :) )

a very detailed report of my possible objectives throughout the month follows:

i will probably be looking for partners on my first few days as my other buddies should be on the wall.
At least on the 1st day, short mp routes (6 pitches max) or cragging, as i might get knocked down by jetlag in the afternoons.
starting somewhere in between 5.9 and 5.10+ should be ok.
I might like to get on the freeblast on the 2nd/3rd day, my leading share will depend on feedback from day 1.

on the day my buddies top out i'd like to join them via the east ledges, to celebrate and help with the bags. Following someone going up would be ideal, but good beta and report about the fixed lines' health will be also appreciated.

mid oct, if my climbing abilities in the valley match the top of my expectations, i might be very interested in following/helping anyone knowledgeable about the route on a "projecting mission" on freerider(salathe), starting from the top of the route. (abbing in, stashing, working some pitches and then escaping upwards or downwards)

also, starting on 17/10, we'll be a team of three, so a fourth climber will be welcome to join us.
To soon to talk about grades and objectives though, even if we are quite a mixed team in terms of motivations, english fluency and free/aid skills.
Personally speaking, i might like to cruise easier free classics, boulder a bit or run the final laps on more ambitious projects.

cheers,
G

I'm in the Valley for most of October. Currently in site 35 (Camp 4), and I'll probably stay in that site for a while. Mainly looking to do longish free climbs in the 5.10-5.11 range, or big walls. I have several years of Valley free climbing experience under my belt, but am still pretty new to big walling and aid. My todo list has stuff like the Chouinard-Herbert, DNB, Stoner's, Bridalveil East, Voyager, Wind Chill, Lost Arrow Chimney, YPB, and any of the easier wall climbs (I've only done Lurking Fear and Salathe). But basically I'm excited to climb anything I haven't done before.

Looking for a partner for tomorrow (Oct 4) if anyone is interested.

For those staying in camp 4 these days: is it full or nearly full? When should i start waiting in a line, in current conditions? (can be there Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, or during the night)

Clint Helander · · Anchorage, AK · Joined Dec 2007 · Points: 612

it is always full in october. no questions, you will have to wait in line at the kiosk early in the morning!

How's the smoke situation right now?

Legal with a prescription but unrecognized by the Feds, which includes NPS.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
