Just received unofficial news from an acquaintance that the circumstances leading to the cause of death was that a safety knot was forgotten on rappel. This is a sombering reminder to all of us that climbing can in fact be dangerous--for everyone, regardless of experience. Thoughts are with the family and the climbing community here in WA. |
