Saturday is my birthday and I’m taking my family to the Gunks, their first time, to walk the carriage road.
My son will be with me, along with two other adults, and I wanted him to see me climb. He’s never seen me climb before, except for pictures, and is really excited this trip and I don’t want to disappoint him.
If anyone is going to be climbing in The Trapps on something short and easy and is willing to let me cruise up on their rope, I’d really appreciate it. Just a quick top-rope send that my son can watch. Won’t take more than a minute! Don’t worry – there will be an adult with him while I climb, and he’ll be kept a safe distance away.
I’ll be brining my own shoes, harness and helmet.
I know I could probably just ask people along the way but would rather not interfere with someone’s plans or make them feel they have to do it out of guilt. If someone is having a casual day and doesn’t mind helping me out here, awesome. You’ll really make my little guy’s day!

Hey Michael, Katie and I will actually be climbing in the Trapps on Saturday morning. We have been doing early starts to beat the crowds and getting out by lunchtime to spend the rest of the day with kids. So depending on what time you get there feel free to call my cell.

If any of you parents want to belong to a family climbing group, let me know and I'll recommend you to the group leader.
The other members go climbing with & without kids,sometimes traveling near and far.
