You climb the Bachar Yerian on your honeymoon and again to celebrate your 20th anniversary :-)

My wife is a rock star. She climbs with heart more than ego, puts the fun in 5.fun, she can ring-lock, she knows how to drill/place a bolt, her belay is like silk, she believes in me when I don't, loves flip-flop approaches, reminds me to eat during the climbing day, we have his and her gri-gris, she likes my routes, looks sexy in a helmet and pig-tail braids, and she carried and gave birth to our son -- which is harder than any climbing route us dudes have ever even thought of trying.

When you repeat yourself over and over and she still loves you?

(hehh..)

In all seriousness, I used to have this long list of things I thought I needed in a relationship, but over time that list got smaller and I realized that the most important 3 things were:
1) Patient
2) Forgiving
3) Encouraging

This goes for partners of any sort - in life or on rock.
It shouldn't be too surprising that when you see those, the rest falls together in several arenas.

27th Wedding Anniversary

We went back out on our 40th to do it again and had to fly her home because of her sisters death before being able to. The plan is to do it next year on our 42nd anniversary.

She is psyched to head South and struggle in Patagonia with you…. A second time!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
