Anyone know what the conditions are on Ptarmigan Fingers leading up to Flat Top Mountian North facing Couloirs in RMNP?

As of Sept 8th the bottom 600ft or so of all the fingers were gone. Hiked in and wound up just bailing. The snowfield down to the lake was gone and it would have been steep talus to reach crappy snow

If you make your way up the initial slope just west of the little tarn, there is continuous snow in the middle and western fingers. Go for it!

Alan Arnette was just up there the other day and posted a video. Looks like some good ice is still up there, you just have to get to it.... according to the blog, it ran up to about 60 degrees before the summit, so it sounds fun! I'll check it out next weekend after I get back from the Winds!
