The voters have spoken, not me.... |

Yeah but what is the driving difference like? I live in Burlington VT and Pway is about 3.5-4 hours and I try to go at least once a year. Wouldn't Farley be farther for me since its in MA? I'm a V8~ climber so I'm definitely interested in harder stuff, though... |
|
I think that Farley would actually be a wash, if not closer for you. Just take 91 south to MA route 2. I used to live in Burlington and I'm pretty sure crossing NH and driving the small roads (read: dirt) to get to Pway would have been farther |
|
You should be able to get to Pway in under 3 hours and probably Farley in under that. Both Farley and Pway are about 2 hours north from me and Burlington is 4 hours north.... |

Where can I find info on Farley? There doesn't seem to be any on here. |

If you can get directions to the WMCC parking lot, there is a good map to the best boulders at Farley on the kiosk in the lot... |

I'm not a big fan of hush hush secret BS like that. Doesn't sound worth the drive to me. Sounds more like an area I'd want to check out if it was 30 mins, not 3 hours away. I don't enjoy wasting one of my 2 days of climbing (Saturday/Sunday) a week on a 3 hour drive when I won't even be guaranteed any directions, parking info, approach info, boulder info, or beta. |
|
Don't let the hush, hush deter you. The hush, hush is for the landowners. The bouldering is world class and worth the effort to find... |

The lack of info is a huge pain. I went to Farley with a friend and while some things were easy to find, recognizing them from the million videos of the area I've seen, it was an altogether frustrating experience. As a result I was pretty disenchanted with the place and have absolutely no current plans to go back. I'm concerned that the same will happen with Great Barrington when I finally make it out there. Access issues blow! |

They need to unwad their panties and simply go. and then, realize those NE Bouldering guidebooks they scheme thru like bibles- have the cover graced with a Farley classic..... Bumping into you out there works too if theyre lucky (helped me once a couple yrs back know what some new lines you were scrubbin above the zen were) -solid work around the region man its much appreciated and respected |

Farley is amazing... If you're unwilling to explore areas or don't like that sort of thing, one should really consider staying in the gyms at the least. Obviously if you want to have an 'agenda' and make the world and area fit into your nice little box with a guide to coddle you around an area, sometimes you miss out on life. |

Unless you're BC skiing with a helicoptor.. Then guides are cool as shit. |
