I really like that leather bag, how much would something like that run, I don't need a pocket, just like the look/color of that leather. Keep up the good work, I always appreciate people making their own stuff or trying to improve on current designs.

^^^ I like this zipper design.

Edit:

pbrownw,

I called it first! I'm from Texas, need that leather to impress the other locals. :)

Josh,

Make another one for our friend here, please. :)

Looks nice. Is the pocket big enough for a phone?

I like it. I would say if I were using it I would want it to hold a clif bar, knife, car key, a bic and my phone. Proto looks great but i agree if you move it up a bit more you can optimize and have a larger pocket. A clip for a key inside would be boss too. And maybe a separate sleeve inside to hold the phone isolated from the other items.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. I'm going to perfect the patterns in the next run and then they'll be ready for order. Send me a PM and I'll get you taken care of.

I'm glad you're trying to innovate. Love the idea of the mini pocket, the unfortunate thing is, is that I bought a bag from you years ago and have absolutely abused it, but it doesn't have any signs of wear.

you should make a chalk bag out of non-woven dyneema...

my other idea-- a double barrelled chalk bag. One pouch contains chalk, the other one is filled with down insulation, has an electric heating coil and can be used to warm the hands.

Actually, this isn't a bad idea. However, why not just go simpler.

How about a primaloft insulated bag made from something waterproof, with pockets/slots for hand warmers (these are optional, but would simplify things on the climber end).

This would be a great bag for cold weather climates where climbers already toss hand warmers into their non insulated chalk bags.

I like the design. What's the diameter of the opening (I have big hands)? Can you do one in all black? I'd order one as well.

I love the idea of a specifically cold weather climbing bag. I think the simplest would be J. Serpicos idea of a Primaloft fabric and I can incorporate some little pockets for handwarmers. I'll start playing around with it.

Tico. The pocket is definitely big enough for a phone.

Zatoan: The diameter is 5" - designed for large, taped hands. I can make these in your choice of colors for no extra charge.

Bump for quality workmanship and ability to customize a bag to your needs. Top Notch Josh!

I like the slippery thin fabric used by Arc'teryx it helps to minimize chalk clouds as it closes really tight and there is minimal amount of chalk left on top. But the zipper right under brush loop is a total fail, didn't anybody at Arc'teryx noticed this problem I see you positioned on the opposite side, bravo.
I usually use a biner instead of belt so I prefer the belt loops to have the option to mount the biner vertically (I'm looking at you Mammut Zephir) and horizontally without the chalk bag constantly twisting. Might use two crossing straps for belt loops this would give that dual position option for using a biner.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
