Looking to team up with some nice people who would be cool with the top roping noobs tagging along.

My gf and I live in Portland, Oregon

Me- 35, mostly into bouldering (up to V6 at Circuit, V3 outdoors), with some TR climbing/belaying experience in the gym and 1 time outdoors. In the gym I've done some 5.10-'s but otudoors only completed a 5.8

Her- 30something (never ask a lady) and she has more experience with mountaineering and 5.6 type climbing on top rope outdoors, along with some rappelling. In the gym she has done 5.9 (I think) on TR but never lead climbed or belayed.

We are both really eager to learn more about setting up anchors and lead climbing but really just want to get out and do more outdoor top roping. Any grades really but probably safer to start in the 5.6-5.8 range.

Yeah I know... I'm working on my endurance and technique on a rope. I can do the moves but get pumped towards the top... Getting better every session though! I really just need more time on the rope

I'll be out at Smith Rocks tomorrow and Thursday (9/17-9/18) if ya'll can get away from work and want to do some climbing. I'm here for a family visit so I didn't bring much gear - just shoes and harness and such but I'm down to lead some routes and share some knowledge.

I'm in Eugene until December. If you're ever down here during the week we can hang out at the columns. I'm usually busy on the weekends. It's a great place for top rope and learning all about anchors and proper systems. I learned everything through formal classes at OSU and would be happy to go over setting up outdoor systems and do some toproping one afternoon/evening so that you can set things up on your own once you're comfortable with it. jordan.machtelinckx@gmail.com

We'll be back at Smith Rock May and June of 2015 running the visitor center Thur-Sun and living at the State Park. Stop by the visitor center or shoot us a PM. We enjoy company.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
