Access Issue: No camping Details

Blowhard Bush is a Forest & Bird reserve. The basic philosophy here is "leave only footprints". Forest & Bird is happy to have climbers at Blowhard Bush, but they ask that climbers stick to existing trails, scrub tick marks, keep trails clear of equipment, and generally continue to be polite, friendly stewards of the reserve. Camping is not permitted, even in vehicles. There is DoC acamping by the river further west down Taihape Road.

Description

Cool, shaded limestone bouldering. Many moderates featuring thin crimps and fluting on free standing blocks, and several hard problems with pockets and stalactites on smooth, steep walls and cave. Steep routes seep over the winter and spring months, making summer cleaning a necessity.
