Honeymoon with my buddy in Thailand?

Title says it all. The girl just bailed a couple weeks ago (thank god?) so my buddy will be joining me for my 'honeymoon' in Thailand in 3 weeks. So basically the trip turned from a romantic and relaxing honeymoon into an ultimate buddy trip- good for my spirits and good for the bank account. I will have more fun with him anyways. Anyways, we don't have a real itinerary other than going to Koh Samui right when we get there to get some bar girls, then Koh Tao right to chill and dive for a few days. After that, it's up for grabs. We would like to travel the south and get some climbing in, and eventually make our way up to Chiang Mai for a few days (more climbing and cool shit) before returning to Bangkok and heading home.

We intend to do it with just a single pack each, meaning we can't bring a bunch of stuff. I was thinking just shoes, harness and draws- are there places we can rent a safe rope? Or better off just buying one there and trying to sell it to someone in the same boat?

I know there's plenty of info on MP and available on the internets, and will probably get trolled about asking something that has been asked 50 times before, but I am looking for any beta from personal experience and/or extensive research. My life is kind of a mess right now and I don't have a lot of time to research. Where to go, where not to go, where to stay, where the best thai girls are, etc. As far as abilities, 10.b/c is probably max, unless the ratings there are soft. Because it is September (aka monsoon season) what areas dry out quickly?

Any feedback would be appreciated. And yes I apologize for not doing my own research, but personal experience seems more reliable than a sponsored ad.

Cheers

My favorite part of my Thailand trip was renting scooters from Chiang Mai and heading north towards the Burmese border. We initially planned to head up into Burma, but we hit a storm and decided to sleep in a cool little town called Pai for the night. We liked the place a lot and ended up staying there for a couple days and never made it to Burma. Riding scooters through the jungle for hours on end was awesome - but I'd rent a motorcycle instead the next time.

So my buddy actually looked into renting bikes and heading up to Pai- I think we are going to give it a go. I contacted Tony's Big Bikes in Chiang Mai, and they seem cheap and legit. Thanks for the suggestion

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
