Chalk bags with pockets?
|
I am looking for a chalkbag that can hold a headlamp, knife, and granola bar. I am not sure if there is anything out there now that does this. I dont like having stuff in my pockets or too much extra junk on my harness. Any brands out there that yall know of? |

Madrock Kangaroo . It probably won't fit a granola bar but would accommodate a gel, small knife and small headlamp.

petzl kodapoche will hold a gel, knife and an e-lite, also, the drawstring closure on it is a whistle...actually now that i think about it, the e-lite has a whistle on it too! |

I have 3 chalkbags with zippers and will not even accept a chalkbag free if it doesn't have a zipper. I feel real strongly on it. Interesting that Metolius no longer shows the Stash on their site...... |

You'll feel like an idiot dropping $40 on a chalk bag; I did. But I've been through 5 chalk bags and this is the only one that I've liked. Easy access to the chalk, your hand won't snag - good-sized zipper pocket, opening that cinches completely shut - try it, you won't regret it. |

Now that the Metolius Stash is no longer in production, can anyone point me to a chalk bag with a large zippered pocket? |
|
Trango 40 cal. Doesn't have a zipper, but it has a Velcro pocket that is pretty good size and is secure- ive never had a problem with it. In addition, the bag is a great size and closes securely. Finally, and best of all, it is only 15 bucks, so you don't feel ridiculous spending a fortune on a small bag. |

Mammut Togir Chalk bag. It's awesome. I fit a small knife, a mini-headlamp, lip balm and a granola bar in there easily. I've even put an apple with cheese with the granola bar in there (along with the knife, headlamp and lip balm) for big summit days. The key is that it stretches. $23 on backcountry backcountry.com/mammut-impa… |

I can make chalk bags of any dimension and I'm always happy to work with zippers. Check some of my wares out at tufaclimbing.com. cheers! |

Arc'teryx makes one for about 35. Or find a local dry cleaner/ seamstress. And see what it would be to put a pocket one your chalk bag now. Tip: if you have to clean out your chalk bag for what ever reason go to a car wash place ( after you emptied residual chalk out ) and vacuum it out. I used my vacuum at home one time and it always seemed to spit chalk every time I started it. |

In response to this thread and at the request of another MP user I prototyped a new model with what I'd say is the largest zippered pocket on the market. |

+1 for TUFA chalk bags. |

Everyone needs a schwag pocket, Locker! ;) |

Find one with a decent sized pocket to carry only the essentials on your ascent. |

Maybe buy a second chalk bag and just keep "stuff" in it? |
