I was climbing the diamond on August 3, and a couple followed me up pervertical sanctuary. One of the climbers wasn't wearing a helmet and the other had borrowed one for the climb. If you find yourselves reading this, and would like some free helmets, I tracked down two helmets that I will gift you. If you are reading this and you think you know this couple, please pass along this offer. If not, then have fun climbing while you're in the boulder area, and KEEP CRUSHING!

I'll keep this one alive for when I see that "please donate to my medical fund to cover my $770,000 hospital bill" thread. That seems to be the standard now days anyway.

$770,000 hospital bill? Well fuck that, should let me die Im not worth that much. Shit... If I had that kind of bill I'd jump off the back of one of the flatirons provided I didn't die soloing it

Ha, $770k is not unusual these days for a serious injury when they charge $50 to take your blood pressure, and another $50 for an MD to "analyze" the results. Anyway, it's not the end of the world, you can do the classic American thing and declare bankruptcy to wipe the debt. Interestingly enough, the more hospitals charge, the less likely their uninsured patient are to pay anything at all. If the charges were reasonable and the patient could pay it off, s/he would probably try. But when the charges are so exorbitant and there is zero possibility of ever paying the debt off, there is little motivation to pay anything at all.

A truer word has not been spoken, I am curious though is bankruptcy the most common out? or is there a more politically correct term?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
