Just moved to Grass Valley, need climbing partners!

Hi! I just moved to the area from AZ, did mostly gym climbing there but got outside maybe once a month, only sport climbing so far. Ratings seem different here (at least in gyms) but outside in AZ I can lead 5.8 (still new to leading), can follow 10a or so. Gym climbing in CA I've been making up 10a,b,c, even some 11's at a gym in the bay area but I felt like all their routes should have been labeled a 7 lol. So, looking for easy going people to explore Auburn cliffs, Donner Summit, maybe Bowman lake area? What else is good?

Hi Katrina,

I'm fairly easy going--just getting into leading--I follow in the 5.7 to 5.9 range--consider myself to be safe and live in the SF East Bay.

I have never been to Auburn Cliffs and climbed around Donner Summit years ago but would be willing to give it another go :) I've been multi pitching in the Tahoe/Yosemite valley a few times this summer.

I have a decent rack--that needs more use, can climb on the weekends and want to increase my skill level on the rock. Send me a message if you are available to head out in September.

Hey Kat,

I'm Dan, recently moved to GV I'm looking for someone to climb and slackline with. I've been climbing for 6+ years all over Ca mostly outside. I like easy multi-pitch, but can lead up to 10d trad and 11a sport.

-I have a full rack and an older Taho guide book

-I also have a longline and a highline rig if you're a slackliner.

I'm interested in climbing at the Emeralds out bowman road ASAP. I can climb any day except saturday and monday. It might be kinda icy out there but I'm sure we can find a clean line.

Replay or pm me and I'll give you my contact.

Hope to climb soon,
~Dan
