Looking to do a summit of Shasta on the clear creek trail labor day weekend. Leaving from the Bay Area.
It's a 12 mile round trip hike with 8500' elevation gain. The goal is to camp at high camp around 9900' and wake up early for a summit bid and come down in the same day.
It's a non-technical route but will need ice ax and crampons for the top where the ranger said there's still a little snow and ice.
Looking for for someone who knows what they're doing but doesn't need to be a pro! I've never been to shasta but have been training.
