A ski buddy of mine shared this link with me knowing I had a Regenexx procedure and how well it worked. In my case I was sure I didn't want another surgery as it was the arthroscopies that caused the problem. I looked into everyone doing non-surgiccal treatments like a dog after a bone. After all of that research, the one place that had the most experience and published research and most extensive training for their docs was Regenexx. I went to the Broomfield,CO office, Dr. Centeno did the procedure. I had never had such a complete exam, I only wish I had found these guys ten years ago. Anyway, I had a Regenexx-SD procedure and I would say have had 90% improvement in pain and function now 6 months out, which is more than I ever had from an arthroscopy which only made my knee increasingly unstable. They also injected my MCL which helped the instability greatly. For anyone that lives in the Chicago area there is a free Knee Arthritis Trial which might still be accepting candidates. |

"I work as an Orthopedic Tech. and I have personally had PRP injections for bilateral labrum hip repair(surgical). The PRP injections made a huge difference in my recovery. The PRP seems to be a better alternative than steroids. I had my procedures done at The Steadman Clinic, their web site has a few good articles and other procedures that might be of interest to you. thesteadmanclinic.com/index.asp |

My deal is a 2cm full-thickness, partial width tear in a shoulder ligament. I still have full range of motion, just get a wicked ache from exertion in it. I can see how the standard zipper stitch would not necessarily last with my old ligaments; plus the injury first happened 3 or 4 years ago |

If you are in and around Dallas, Texas you can also check out Regenorthosport . They have tons of experience with stem cell therapy with knee injuries, shoulder injuries etc. |

Mike, I had a PRP shot in Nov for a partially torn lateral epicondyle. Before the shot basically any activity would aggravate it - household activities, a few 5.9s. Same w/ PT (including eccentrics), therapist stopped all activity after I got the MRI. Pain free 5-6 weeks after the shot, started light PT, then climbing. So far so good, but I am being really conservative with the ramp up. christopher adams wrote: As someone who works in biotech, I avoid anything that doesn't have a mountain of clinical data behind it. That was my initial thought, but when the only proven option is surgery (estimated 1yr before climbing for me) it was not so simple. Both surgeons I saw recommended trying the PRP shot first, so I went that route. |
