Can anyone give me good advice on where to camp in/ around Boulder?
I will be there Sept 22-23 if anyone is looking to climb. I have sport gear and a few stoppers for trad. And a rope.

There is camping allowed up near Upper Dream Canyon in Sugarloaf. Some of the best sport climbing in the area.

Here are directions:

Is this something new? I started noticing people camping up there last year after never seeing anyone the previous 5 or so years. Always worries me with the private land around there and keeping access open.

Yeah it's Roosevelt National Forest. It has been recent that people have started camping there though.

Hopefully not because it's being blown up on here. Not trying to break Guideline #1 with Will, my point is that climbers at this lot have created friction with locals so we all need to be respectful of that and not let people trash the place. Next time I go there I will bring a trash bag. Last time I was there I noticed the trash laying around from people staying around camping. Forgot to ask friends what they found trash-wise from a week ago.

Every time I head up there I end up picking up trash around the lot. We need to be respectful to keep the locals happy.

Certainly not advocating for trash. Leave No Trace all the way. In regards to locals, it's not an issue if you're not on their property. Anyone can camp on National Forrest land.

There's National Forest all around Sugarloaf though, and thus free camping. If you'd like to vier away from the cars and crowds that accompany the Upper Dream parking lot, here's another option: seekingsomewhere.com/campin…
