101 areas in the US to climb at before you die
fantastic! consider it a checklist! |
Never been to the Jungle...but is it really better than the Uintas or top 101 in the country? it seems like there are some wildly differing opinions on the Jungle to qualify for top 101 status. |
Wow, pretty impressive list. Acadia is a definite +1. Climbing on the ocean cliffs. |
if we are hitting at least one in every state, I would say farley for massachusetts..rock quality like mormon but much more to do |
Include Canada and Mexico because borders (and the state that enforces them) are contrived bullshit enforced by illegitimate gangs. Call it 101 areas in North America. |
I'd add Baboquivari Peak in Arizona to the list. Not just another desert chosspile, it's a pretty unique & unforgettable experience regardless of what level of difficulty route you choose, and there's everything from easy 5th to A5. |

Taylor J wrote: Cut p way are you kidding? I do believe that crow hill and Farley deserve a spot...Just my opinion.Pway could be a contender for bouldering but I wouldn't have it on my list. Since I don't think it is one of the top 10 bouldering areas in NA. Crow and Mormon are local areas, a road tripping climber would be seriously disappointed in them. Really nothing in MA qualifies. |

This is a great list. I have a few comments: |
Geez! Great undertaking. All of my top areas made the list, though I've scarcely visited 1/3 of areas on the list. Not sure that Crow Hill, MA should make the list...yeah...steeped in history and such, but I have climbed on countless individual crags that far exceed in quality any historical importance of Crow Hill. Okay, howz about a list of runners-up? I love The Waterfall in AZ - pretty nice crag. Great job. |

the dacks is pretty broad , I would say poco or the web, or wallface for true adventure. I am a little offended that there is nothing in vt but most vermonters would like to keep it that way but it is between nh and ny so if on a road trip why not? perhaps smugglers notch because it is a cross between rumney and Cannon. certainly more impressive than patuckaway(nh) |
