Sounds complicated but interesting

Nothing "complicated" about what you wrote.

Good luck, you'll find someone.

Check out meetup.com There's a couple of active climbing groups in Denver and one in Colorado Springs. If you're into climbing safe, there's lots of people who will be willing to help you learn.

I would suggest getting, as your first peices of gear, a set of stoppers and tricams. Tricams are the shit. Good luck, trad is rad

I'm sure someone else will mention it but hiring a guide is a great way to learn new climbing skills.
It's tailored to your needs and if you go with an AMGA guide then part of their training is learning how to teach people climbing skills.

Just my 2 cents but unless you're against the idea of hiring a guide, chances are it will save you a lot of time and expedite gaining the knowledge you're after.
good luck,
BA
