I just read up on some of the side effects of THC (marijuana) and it is : calming, sedating, paranoia and anxiety in some individuals, along with other undesirable effects like lung cancer with long term use. Now that medical marijuana is legal getting in trouble with the law is no longer an issue but some employers will fire you if any of that stuff is detected. I do believe that the high lasts longer than just 3 hours. But if you chose to smoke it, only smoke it at night and NOT before climbing or diving or such activities that require present mind. To get motivated just keep pushing yourselves and do listen to people around you when they tell you to get off your ass.

Medical marijuana is legal in Washington state too but NOT in Canada.

You're projecting your experience onto others. Just because you seen others become a lazy slob while stoned does not mean it effects others the same way. Please educate yourself on the different strains between sativa and indica and how it effects the body before making broad generalizations.

Topic sparked my curiosity, did a Web of Science search for "marijuana driving" and found this: Trends in fatal motor vehicle crashes before and after marijuana commercialization in Colorado.

There were a few other interesting studies, a few detailing the stats of those surveys we all took in high school (I always wondered what became of those), but really nothing clinical. I don't consider stoned 18-25 year olds in a lab on a simulator all that compelling.

Regardless of my perceived abilities, I always ask myself, "What would happen to me if it was someone else's fault?" If I'm in the hospital hopefully getting life-saving attention after an accident, they're gonna test me.

I hate to be the one that bursts the bubble, but people who drove stoned before it was legalized will continue to do so, and those that did not, will not start. The same thing goes for people climbing, biking, hiking or trying to get into grad school or starting a business, or anything else productive. All this law does is allow people who partake able to enjoy it and not have to break the law. Maybe we'll get lucky and a few people who decide to try it will switch to weed and cut down on booze? This is weed people, not crack.

Was at the Voo today. Be very alert on I-80 going through the construction zones. There are sections that are marked at 65 (down from 75), and then there are short sections that are marked 45.

I went through one of the 45 sections well over 45 and a HP immediately pulled right behind me, almost tail gaiting. When it changed back to 65 I stayed well under 65 and prayed. After the construction zone ended, he passed me. Whew!

That was the gist of my argument. For a long time, Wyoming would give you a minimal ticket for 10 over, and a huge ticket for 11+ over the limit. Low level speeding on the interstate just isn't worth the HP's time, but out-of-state plates on a back road (although, a back road to what? getting to Cheyenne, or Laramie, from Vedauwoo, without taking the interstate, is kind of an involved process) could be.

I can see where that was easily misunderstood. I should have used the word "similar" not "same." What was intended was to say that if you are substantially altered, your probability of an accident gets much higher. The studies on that have already been linked.
Most F'd up driving is on alcohol, it's more common. I don't reserve any special treatment for anyone who drives in any particular altered state, really. It's all about the same for me.
Driving while texting... well, there you go. That's about the same as a .08-.1BAC in the studies I have read. I also don't do that and don't ride in a car with someone who is. Luckily, none of my friends seem tempted to.

As it is your brain is going crazy with vertigo and pressure changes, weird sounds and temperature changes and the constant movement of the ocean surg. We knew this crazy dude in Diego who got high on acid and had his friends drag him tied into a rope behind a speed boat. He said it was the best sensation he ever felt in his life. But hey? Is it worth it? Some may say yes but you may face the consequences as a result.

Not to feed into some crazy comments on here but Tony B that would be the way to go. Yo at least you get the ride of your life with it. I am not by all means condoning doing yourself in because it is against my religion and very strong convictions as a nurse. That is a disclaimer ;)
