After over two years of work, I am excited to announce a new route on the Black Wall on Mt. Evans. Sinners on Sunday takes a line between Rainbow Highway and High Variance on the far right side of the Black Wall. Although all of the pitches are quite good, the jewel is a 35 meter splitter finger crack in the middle of an amazing granite face.

Dan Godshall and Greg German worked tirelessly to help me with this route, and Jackie Kuusinen joined for the first ascent. The route description can be found here: mountainproject.com/v/sinne…

The route is in fine shape right now (dry) and there are a few photos below to get you motivated. Although it needs more ascents to confirm the grade, we have listed it as 12-.

The 5.12- section is relatively short and can be aided, leaving 30+ meters of incredible finger crack. Alternatively, if you are not up for the 12- pitch, the 4th and 5th Pitches can be easily accessed as a variation from the top of Rainbow Highway’s 4th Pitch. Enjoy!

Lower 4 pitches
Upper 3 independent pitches. Finish on Rainbow Highway not shown.
