Should I cut my half ropes to the same length?

I recently took a core shot to my brand new half ropes. As a result I now have a 60 m and a 50 m. I am debating whether I should chop the second 60 down to 50 to keep them both the same length. Is there much benefit to not chopping it?

Or, you could always buy another 60 to, again, have a matching set. And use the 50 for glacier travel and shorter raps where one rope is enough?

I recently had to chop 5m off my 60 twins.. debating what to do as well: chop the other to the same length, or get a second one to match the intact 60? Honestly, still not sure but leaning towards the pair of 60s... and a handy 55m glacier / rap line for those easy scrambles.

i'd say chop it, tie loops on both ends via fig 8 followthrough and maybe a few overhands in the middle and then use it as a PAS when cleaning anchors. it would be safer than using a sling or daisy chain and if, for some reason, you need to climb above your anchor while being clipped into the anchor, you aren't gonna break your sling or your back if you fall.

Chop it, or buy another 60. Climbing on ropes of different lengths is right pain as they will be out of phase at the belay when you swap leader. The means the ropes get in a mess.

all of the above. if your ok with 50's then chop it. if you would rather have 60's then buy another rope and use the bad one to weave a cute little rug that you can then give to your girl friend, mom, grandma, and score big points possibly even home made cookies!
