PVC sloper campus board training

Quick question:

Is there a real benefit to training on the PVC sloper campus board that many gyms have now? There is a lot of training literature on using the normal campus rungs, but not much on PVC slopers. Does anyone have a link to one?

Something tells me my time is better spent training open handed grip on the normal campus rungs. Am I wrong?

The benefit Ive found is that the PVC campus boards are good to work the "pull" muscles; not necessarily finger strength directed.

Depends on how hard the PVC slopers are, they can be great sloper trainers. In general, it requires a lot more body control than campusing on rungs.

I have 3 inch diameter at my home wall. The angle is 17 degrees so it's a challenge. I know it's going to work the shoulders and back opposed to pure finger strength.

I think I'll use the PVC slopers to mix up the training routine, but keep the focus on the typical wooden rungs.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
