Wants:
Ability to remove a route from your to do list
See what routes in a given area are on your to do list
Photo upload
Ability to swipe to next route would be cool

I miss seeing the photos in the body of area descriptions when I use the mobile version.

Canada database is corrupt? Removed and tried re-adding to no avail.

Working on Canada. I'm sure it's a funky character code or accent mark that we haven't seen before...

Apple approved our latest release today, which hopefully fixes everything, including the photo freezing problems. There have been a few updates to the Android version as well, so make sure you have the latest if you're having any issues.

The app on my samsung tab 8. Using android crashes very regularly. In no particular place or time, it just goes to a black screen and says mountain project has stopped working.

Ah, that might explain why half my bookmarks load to a blank page. Yes, fixing this would be handy. Bookmarks are super valuable those times when I have to whip out MP in the field. When the bookmarks don't work, I have to take off my gloves and misspell "couloir" in the search field several times before I can open the route!

(When the bookmarks are working, I can usually use the tip of my nose to operate the phone and keep my gloves on!)

There also seems to be an issue with an area in Wyoming.
Laramie Peak Wildlife Habitat Management Area shows up on the MP website, but not in the app. One suspicious aspect; when you visit the
Laramie Peak Wildlife Habitat Management Area page, it is called Laramie Range up in the top (e.g. Wyoming > Laramie Range). There is another page which is called Laramie Range (with far fewer routes). Perhaps a naming conflict?

We rearranged much of WY yesterday (moved many small areas from WY to WY : Laramie Range). It will take a week for the app to sync up, and it's possible you'll need to delete everything from WY from the app before it gets correct. Sorry for the hassle!

There's some encoding issues with apostrophes:
mountainproject.com/v/1-lar…
"1 l’Arène" shows up: "1 lArène"

Thought I saw a "&gr" instead of an accented letter but I can't find it.
[Edit] &gr was probably the & amp ;

Quick note from the weekend- I put my phone in airplane mode as I was in a deep rock gully all day climbing (not a snowball's chance in hell of getting signal) and MP kept throwing "DNS resolve failure" or something like that, I think the address it was looking for was mountainproject.com

I should have taken a screenshot, but I was distracted!

So the one fix was great, now the most updated version crashes a ton on the IPhone... Can't I just have the old one that I paid for back ???????????

Another text encoding issue in the route name:
The symbol "&" is replaced with "& amp ;"(without spaces) in the tick list and todo list.

I may have missed it in one of these threads, but my app is hung up trying after trying to run some updates. I am running MP version 2.8 on iOS 7.1.2. This has happened in the past, but took a few days before it stopped and I could update.
Uninstall and reinstall?

Apologies, found this.

Any idea when the next release will come out? After this, I'll probably stop updating till then.
Thanks

I was testing a new version today. Many major improvements and the download and install system has been totally redone. Should be 3-4 weeks.

Have you considered forcing portrait mode? For me the app stops working and displays "loading" endlessly after I accidentally rotate the screen (which happens all the time on the trail). It looks like it is pretty easy to do:

stackoverflow.com/questions…

Edit: OK it's not hanging right now and I can see you do mean to support landscape mode. Urk. Is it possible that when the screen rotates, the app tries to fetch a new advertisement banner or something like that, that would break when I'm out in the field, outside of reception?

The problem occurs when you simultaneous download several areas, and is compounded when you leave the download screen. But it's not 100%.

The soon-to-be-released version will hopefully fix it for good.

Question about the new release. I see it is potentially coming out in the near future.

Will we be able to organize climbing areas in the side menu? Say, alphabetically by state, or in an order of convenience by how often we frequent an area? I think deleting and re-downloading areas would also work, but the option to move areas around would be most convenient.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
