Description Suggest change

Nathrop Blocks are South of Buena Vista. This area has at least several good boulders including the classic Buena Boulder. The rock type is "Sugarloaf Rhyolite" Tertiary- middle Oligocene, likely sourced from nearby Bald Mountain.

Getting There Suggest change

Head south from Buena Vista on US Highway 285 for 3.4 miles. Take a left of County Road 301. Cross the river, and take a right on County Road 300 after a half-mile. Drive 2 miles south on CR 300 and park. The Buena Boulder is on the left side of the road.
