Hello All,
I will be headed up there for a few days to soak up the Central Coast. I have lived in California my whole life and only driven through it. This is not really a climbing trip, but I am bringing gear (any area suggestions?). I have asked the internet for information on camping spots, but thought I would give MP a shot. Any stellar camping spot options ? Thanks!

Big Sur has very few good spots, other than what you find listed on here. For camping, look up Prewitt Ridge. It's near the town of Gorda. Beautiful view of the ocean from 3000 feet up. One of the campsites also has 12' limestone boulder near by with a few un established problems.

Look up pardington cove (sp?). The boulders are really sharp with rocky landings but the spot is awesome, right in the water.

Andrew Molera state park has good midweek camping. You have to walk in a bit but that makes it less travelled. It's just north of big sur. Crumbly rock abounds up an down the coast.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
