Interesting. I'll definitely take a second look. But…

Apparently the US and Europe are two if the few countries at don’t indulge in eating insects…

Come on...

Ok, I read the full recipe. There's no bugs in this.

And the link goes to the proper website. Not a porn site.

"Asian salad dressing of your choice" - gross. I'd just go with soy sauce and sesame oil and top with scallions, traditional Japanese ingredients - clean and simple taste.

I make cold soba all the time, I think it's important to julienne your veggies - kinda tedious at a camp. Even better with a mandoline, but not many people have it and those who have it, are not likely to bring it camping. Soba noodles could be a bit finicky, they're fragile to store and prepare. Not an ideal choice of camp starch, IMO.

My problem was not with the insects, but rather the fact that we now have "writers" out there who think that Europe is a country. Not to mention the grammar.

As for the Soba, I eat a lot as buckwheat is a staple of any gluten free diet. I agree, they are a bit fragile for the campsite and aren't my favourite thing to eat leftover. Maybe if I were glamping?

True, you can make your own dressing. Lots of people I've talked to don't want to mess with that kind of stuff. This is an easy alternative. You might be surprised that it actually tastes good.

You probably already know, but most commercially available soba is made with wheat flour. Pure buchwheat soba sans wheat is very rare. I have never seen it on any grocery or Asian food market shelf.

I live in London so I guess things are different here, but the soba noodles I buy are completely gluten free. It's the only reason I buy them. Pretty sure they are 100% buckwheat.

Yep. Do them in Tesco, Asda, and at times Morrisons! Just found rice noodles too, also gluten free.

I'm posh so I buy mine at Waitrose. "It's a step above really."

And so would I if they had them in Northern Ireland! Mind you, no Morrisons either - one extreme to the other?!
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
