5.10 Pinky?

I'm highly interested in a pair of the new pinks. I loved my verdes until they got stolen. Are the pinks just verdes in a new color + C4 rubber? I read a few reviews but I can't tell how they compare to the verdes. Also, they are not on sale that much and I'm not willing to fork over MSRP for those yet.

Anyone have hands-on experience to share?

Don't have any experience with the pinks, but just a heads up, Verdes are on sale on amazon for $62, depending on your size.

yeah I already saw that but doesn't work for my size. Are they possibly clearing out old stock? Is the verde discontinued?

Verdes are discontinued. The pinks are supposed to be a hybrid of the blanco and verde, with a slightly redesigned heel. The Anasazi Guide is the new offering in the Anasazi lace-up line with a leather upper.

I thought that the new pinks are intended to be a reintroduction of the old pinks. I had the old pinks until they disintegrated, and because they were discontinued, I replaced them with the Blancos, which I am not all that happy with. The old pinks seemed much more sensitive to me than the Blancos. The old pink Anasazis were my favorite sport climbing shoe, but I relegated the Blancos to trad and moderate, edgy sport routes.

I have no idea what the Verdes are like, but I was pretty psyched when I heard that the old style Anasazi lace (pink version) was coming back. Does anyone out there have experience with the old and new models? Also, does anyone know how the Verde compares to the Blanco?

Thoughts on the Pinks: far more comfortable than the Verde, Blanco or VCS. As precise if not more precise than the Blanco. Great all day trad climbing shoe. Sensitivity feels somewhere between Blanco (stiff) and Verde (not as stiff). They are Pink and that makes you more bad ass than anyone at the crag not wearing these shoes. Flimsy heel but it's an Anasazi, not a Dragon or Solution. Probably best suited for moderately hard trad climbing, thin cracks, face climbs and slabs. They don't do so hot on the steeps.

Big difference between the verdes and the blancos is the rubber-- verdes have onyx and blancos have c4. People generally prefer the c4, which is considered stickier but less durable. The c4 feels softer but it is not obvious to me that it is stickier. The blancos are also stiffer and more aggressive.
I haven't tried the new pinks but they have c4 rubber like the blancos.

The five ten shoe line makes little sense. There are like 8 different anasazi shoes. All with subtle differences that no one understands.

Jim

P. S. if by any chance you are looking for a size 8.5 verdes I have a pair in almost brand new condition I'd sell.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
