Description

This is a nice wall on the east side of Monitor Rock that receives morning sun and is shaded in the afternoon. There are several, pretty decent, sport routes here, and it is a nice alternative to the often crowded west face of Monitor Rock.

L->R:

A. Home Wrecker, 9, 1p, 50', bolts.

B. One Stick or Two?, 9, 1p, 60', bolts.

C. Master Blaster, 10, 1p, 80', bolts.

D. Rock Juice, 11+, 1p, 60', bolts.

E. Clairabell, 11-, 1p, 90', bolts.

F. Crack.

G. Powder Max, 11-, 1p, bolts.

H. Jump and Shake, 11+, 1p,, bolts.

Getting There

Take CO Hwy 82 out of either Aspen or Twin Lakes. Park in a pullout that is just on the east side of Monitor Rock. If you are coming from Aspen, it is on the left (right after Monitor Rock, and from Twin Lakes, it is on the right just before Monitor Rock. The trail is in the west corner of the pullout, and I have attached some pictures of where you enter. Follow the trail for a few hundred yards over a bridge and you will come to a Y. Take a right, and you will pass some cabin remains. Just past the remains head uphill for another few hundred yards and you will see the wall on your left. The approach takes about 10 minutes.
