Sharon and I like doing easy routes especially on mid-week days. Since trad climbing is slow, it's nice to have other partners to talk with while waiting for the fiddling with protection, setting up and taking down anchors, etc. We know lots of easy routes in the Gunks we enjoy repeating, mostly 5.2-6 multi-pitch, or 6-8 Top-Rope. (If we can get out for only a half-day, sometimes go to Powerlinez or West Point) We can offer a ride to people in the city or north-east NJ. Monday June 2 is likely for Sharon and me in the Gunks, like start 7:30-8am finish around 2pm. Focus on 5.5-7 Perhaps meet for breakfast in New Paltz first. Send me your phone if interested in joining. Last week did some rather fun easy climbing with other partners (including Alicia) - one day Gunks - one day Powerlinez. Ken

Just wanted to add that I went out with Ken last weekend, and he is a solid climbing partner and a great guy to pass the day with. Safe, strong and fun!

Friday June 6, Sharon and I are planning to get out again. Not sure if a half-day early morning at Powerlinez with focus on 5.7-8 (because that's what "easy" is offered there), or a longer day at Gunks with more like 5.4-7 range. Send me a message with your phone, or use the contact info linked in first post. Ken P.S. on Monday in the Gunks we had a fun short day with jdrago. First Sharon got the urge to struggle on some interesting 8s, then Joe led P1 of Credibility Gap.

Friday morning June 6, looks like a short day for Sharon and me. Powerlinez (near Ramapo NY - [ see on map ] On the rock perhaps as early as 7:00. Or we could meet around then for breakfast nearby. If you want to arrive later, we can jog down to meet you at the parking (and we can send driving directions if you haven't been there before). Or we could meet city car-free climbers at the at the Suffern train station (first mid-week train out from Penn Station or Hoboken arrives around 7:00, then one at 8, then three around 9). At first we'll be working mainly on 5.7-8 half-pitch (because that's what "easy" is offered there). Later I will likely try some harder stuff 5.10-11. Or I could bring a pad if I know somebody wants to try some bouldering. Send me a message with your phone, or use the contact info linked in the first post. Ken

would any of you be interested in climbing on monday? I'm either looking for a ride from the city monday morning, or to be picked up at the bus station in new paltz if I can't finagle a ride.
