New River Gorge dog related question

I've been to new river with my dog before, but this time we'd like to get on some walls that have ladder access only. I've never dealt with a laddered wall so I'm not sure if there's alternate ways to get down with a dog. I've also looked for doggie daycare or somewhere to board near fayetteville and my google searches have turned up squat. Any insight would be helpful!

I had the same questions when I spent last fall there. Here's what I found:

Ladder access: the only real crag I had an issue with was the endless wall. All the other crags were good to go. My dog is a super solid crag dog, but I found the ladders just too risky. You can bypass all of the ladders by hiking in from the road to fayetville station.(first switchback) Or from Beauty mountain depending on where you're climbing. This add extra hiking (at least an extra 1.5 miles depending on the area) but is worth the peace of mind.

Definitely no options for doggie daycare that I've heard of. I spend a lot of time kayaking, so it stressed me out leaving my dog in the car parked in the shade. I left fans running and it was never an issue. Nevertheless, still stressful.

The folks at waterstone (climbing shop) could probably help out as well. Dog people over there.

My dog is definitely my best partner, so leaving her out of the plans is not going to happen. Bring your pup!

Piper: The greatest crag hound there ever was.

I was at sommersville a couple weeks ago, and there is a ladder which you have to downclimb. A couple came with their dog, and I think they just carried it down under their arm. Not sure how big your dog is, but this might be a possibility for you.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
