My friend somehow managed to misplace his red backpack near the parking lot to the Hemmingway buttress in the Lost Horse area with my blue bi-pattern 60m New England Ropes Maxim Glider rope on Sunday 6/15/2014. The pack also had:

his Petzl Adjama harness
my Wild country nut tool
his La Sportiva tarantulaces
binner + atc
chalk bag
two bananas

Someone made off with a giant stash of our stuff.

I understand the concept of a mistake, but it's hard to understand how you misplace a backpack. I don't really understand what it means to "misplace" a backpack.

Hope you find it.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for the bananas.

I guess we both spaced out a little. After coming down from Hemmingway buttress, my friend took off to our car with his pack while I stayed behind to clean up our mess and pack up the rest of our gear. When I met him at the car, we took off. It wasn't until a few hours later that he noticed his pack wasn't with us.

We spoke to the rangers, the local rock shop and the customer service center. We had the phone number for lost and found but nobody responded.

I'd have to say he misplaced it and then it got stolen.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
