Nothing wrong with finding a mentor, but if you don't have much luck (who really wants to belay for hours on end?) learn how to rope solo and practice on your own. If you have a solid understanding of placing gear it's reasonable to teach yourself most of what you need know to climb a big wall.
FYI, I've got a copy of Jared Ogden's Big Wall Climbing Book sitting around if you're interested and I'm in the Boston area.

And by "mentor", I didn't mean someone would have to belay me endlessly. I'd probably learn plenty following a few climbs. Or, I'll lead the C1 pitches and you lead the harder ones....
