Of course another tack we could take is to attack one of the huge contributors to the problem, which is large group size - seems like every year the big groups get both bigger and more common. Maybe we could convince folks to self-police and limit group size to less than six (especially in the more crowded and sensitive areas of the park). I think this would have a huge impact on the erosion problem. |

The last time I discussed this with the Supt was April. In response to someone's request to help clear the CCC trail he said "Thanks for volunteering to help out with the trees on the CCC trail. This is the first I have heard of them. Can you tell me exactly where they are located and how large they are? We will try and get them cut up this week. Volunteers who operate chainsaws on state land are required to have a FISTA certified chainsaw course." |

When Doug and I were talking with the Supt Schmelzer, I had mentioned that I wanted to use the log that fell across the CCC trail at the top of the bluff to replace the retention log at the base. He didn't object to the proposal in the email. |

Still on for tomorrow? Meeting when, where? |

415 at the CCC lot. If you can't make it there by then, head up to the base of gills and we should be there unless we are harvesting a dead timber in the woods. |

Event postponed for a day without severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings. |
|
Has a new date been proposed? |
|
How about Monday the 14th? |
