Gunks partner 6/14 or 6/15

Looking for a Gunks partner for this coming Saturday or Sunday. I have a full trad rack, and have a fair amount leading trad on west coast granite. I live in NYC, so I'll have to rent a car for the day. Haven't done a ton of climbing on Gunks rock, so I'd like to tick off a bunch of the easier climbs to start off the summer.

I'm not opposed to the idea but if you and the OP have already worked something out then don't feel like you have to include me. Not trying to cramp anyone's style haha but I am definitely lookin to climb Sunday!

Hey guys! Sorry for the late response. Didn't get a email ping for these responses. I have to fly out sunday, so I'm going to do Saturday. Anyone interested? One other person is interested and coming, but the more the merrier as far as i'm concerned.

so you have a partner for saturday now? What are you planning on doing climbing wise?

Yeah. I'm not totally sure. I am up for whatever, just trying to get a feel for the rock and gear placements the first time. I'd like to knock out some of the easier classics, but that might not be possible depending on how many people are up there.

have you ever been to the gunks? What is the other persons experience level? and yours? So what time would you be there on Saturday and when can you stay till? If decide to come then it would be three people. You have a FB page? Just trying to get a feel for you. Thanks

I climbed in the Gunks last year one time. Did a couple of climbs, but nothing too serious. For the 4 months after that, I lived in Squamish, and climbed pretty much every day. Towards the end of the summer, I could could consistently lead 5.10b/c on trad. For multipitch, mostly did 10a's. Did the grand wall, rock on, and a couple other classic big wall multipitches there. I'm a little out of shape now, but I can still probably lead 5.9 pretty easily. My partner said they could trad lead up to 5.9. I got a pretty full rack. Doubles up to the camalot 3, and a pair of nuts. I think the plan is to get there around 9:30, and head out around 7pm. www.facebook.com/kmd

well based on your response sounds like you are going to want to do harder stuff. The gunks is pretty sandbagged, I guide there. I am not climbing that hard on gear so maybe we are not a good fit.

I'd swing leads with you on Saturday- I onsite 5.8 at the gunks and would be interested in doing some 9's and 10s.
