Hangers for Buttonheads
Anyone know where to buy hangers for 1/4" buttonheads? I normally buy my hardware from the Fixe website but they don't seem to sell them. |
Check out the Fish website. They have a good selection of hangers |
I was just about to say... |
Looks like Moses does sell rivet hangers which will fit a 1/4" bolt. But it sounds like the hanger can be removed from the bolt even when a carabiner is attached....only option? I'll be placing these bolts myself, not looking to put hangers on old bolts. |
Moses makes a 1/4" stainless hanger, he may not have stock currently, it would be on the site. |
I'm planning on replacement soon after so using MR Sentinel hangers with a washer sounds like a good option. Thanks for the tip. |
Sorry for the misderection Alex- I had rivet hangers on my mind. I'll remind my staff not to let it happen again |
No problem. It was a good excuse to check out the Fish online catalogue. I ended up ordering unrated Moses hangers from a different website. |
i don't know if they are still made, but keyhole hanger would work. They are cut out on the bottom and slide on/off. This also makes the original bolt easier to pull and replace. |
Moses still puts those out too, but I opted for the (more) proper hanger. The keyhole design does not seem to inspire confidence since it can be removed after the bolt is placed. At least with the hanger I can look down, see a hanger, and pretend it's not a 1/4" bolt. |
Vershke stocks Moses 1/4" hangers |
Those hangers are hard to find. I've only seen them one other place online, thanks for sharing the link. They have some other cool stuff there also. The hand drill is interesting...must kick ass for $130? |
!! i got my makita for $150 w/o batteries,,new |
It costs fifty bucks more than Petzl's Rocpeck and also requires wrenches. Hmmm... |
It's easy to snipe shots at these little online outfits, but I really do appreciate them offering hard-to-find hardware. Companies like Vershke and Mountain Tools are providing an important service to the community. |

The Hurricane drill is hand made in the USA and considered by some to be a work of art. $129 is a bargain if that's what you are looking for :-) |
It did look pretty nice. Does it make a hole? |
The Hurricane does make a hole... eventually. It takes me about 50 times longer than with a Bosch. There are likely some who could do it in say 30 times longer than with a Bosch, but I am not one of them. |
The biggest advantage to using a Hurricane is the ability to drill with HSS (high speed steel bits) |
