Second time going to Yosemite; first time climbing. My wife and I are flying in for our anniversary and staying for about a week. I want to keep it classy for one night. So I am looking for any suggestions somewhere nice to stay in/around the bay area or Yosemite. Rest of the trip will be climbing, dirtbaggin and hiking (on rest days). Looking for suggestions on some 5.8s and soft 5.9s also for my wife to lead some 5.7s.

Climbing ideas: Southwest Buttress of Cathedral, Matthes Crest, Snake Dike, Nutcracker, West Crack on Daff, Jamcrack, On the Lamb, Bishops Terrace, The Grack, Day hikes on rest days??

Any suggestions to help make this a better trip is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

not sure about the soft 5.9 part....maybe commitment, pretty much 1 5.9 move. there's some other cool stuff in the 5 open books area.

linking up royal arches with n dome is a fun day too, you can spice up royal arches a bit if you get bored, but it's pretty adventurous and fun

there's a good bit of stuff on manure pile butress that you guys would have a blast on

that being said....the valley is getting hot, unless you wanna get after it super early, you might focus more on tuolumne. there are some great climbs there too. check out cathedral, drug dome, matthes crest and lembert.

Royal Arches, Central Pillar of Frenzy (enjoyed this more than east buttress, and Higher Cathedral spire regular route are all good

The Grack is great. So is Central Pillar, but both those and Snake Dike can be hot-hot-hot.

In Tuolomne, West Crack on Daff, Hobbit Book, Cathedral, Great Pumpkin or Regular Route on Fairview.

Day hikes? Yosemite Falls. Tuolomne Grove of Big Trees.

Would have to agree with the previous posts. I would recommend routes on Stately Pleasure Dome or Pywiack in the Meadow as well. The meadows you just need to watch for storms. Just got off West Ridge of Conness which was incredible! The valley will be super hot!! That said Nutcracker, Munginella are classics. Just did Central Pillar and it was amazing!! Have fun!
