What are the possibilities and potential of the future in climbing? How many routes and problems are waiting to be discovered?

Countless. They just won't be as close to the road. Or maybe they will be (roadside boulders in Colorado)

Huge. For trad cracks, only about .1% of the Wingate has been climbed, at an optimistic estimate. There are huge #s of boulders that haven't been touched.
Lots of rock never been touched. Partner of mine developed an area (trad)as a personal playground in the late 80"s-20 minute hike & rappel in, from a heavily used road. Only sign of any previous use was a pin at the 5.11 crux of one crack that was otherwise 5.9-we figured it was Kor in the 60's. On the other hand, if you want sport with a ten minute approach, you're probably SOL.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
