Adirondack Rock has a vague recommendation to seek out high and windy crags to avoid the flies. Can anyone give some more specific information? Are there any good ADK areas during black fly season?
Washbowl Cliffs, The Spiders Web area, Chapel Pond Slab are a few I can think of right now. +1 on Pitchoff Cliffs. Regardless of what area you decide, you still have to deal with the little buggers on the approach.

True. And by the time they are once again re-opened for climbing, black fly season will have died down quite a bit.
