Adirondack Rock has a vague recommendation to seek out high and windy crags to avoid the flies. Can anyone give some more specific information? Are there any good ADK areas during black fly season?

Washbowl Cliffs, The Spiders Web area, Chapel Pond Slab are a few I can think of right now.
+1 on Pitchoff Cliffs.
Regardless of what area you decide, you still have to deal with the little buggers on the approach.

All of the aforementioned crags, plus Snowy Mt, Moss Cliff, and some of the slabs back in the high peaks.

...except that Washbowl and Moss are generally closed for peregrine nesting during fly season. Moss definitely is this year. Not sure about Washbowl.

True. And by the time they are once again re-opened for climbing, black fly season will have died down quite a bit.

Think "up" when looking for windy spots to climb. Any 100+' multipitch *should* have enough exposure to have some breeze blowing.

Spiders web is awesome! And if you want an adventure Wallace. Approach is kinda miserable.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
